After being dismissed by Akeal Hosein in the 1st T20I, he took revenge on him this time, hitting Akeal Hosein for 4, 6, 6, 4 and 1 in a single over. His knock helped India post a target of 250. But West Indies chased it down with 9 balls to spare, finishing on 252/4 in 18.3 overs, to win by 6 wickets. Shai Hope hit an unbeaten 102 off 45 and Sherfane Rutherford made 84 off 37, and Samson took the catch off Kuldeep Yadav to dismiss Rutherford.

India vs Pakistan, Final, Asian Games 2026. Samson made just 2 off 4 balls, and he was out to a mistimed pull: Ahmed Daniyal bowled it short, Samson didn't have room, hit it high on the bat and Arafat Minhas took the catch at mid-on. It's another poor knockout game for him after being bowled for 7 in the semi-final. Samson keeps flashing a good innings in patches, but consistency is still the issue, and big games are where it hurts the most.
India vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Semi-Final, Asian Games 2026, at Nisshin. Samson made 7 off 9 balls with one four, but it did not matter in the end: India posted 169/7, bowled Sri Lanka out for 45 in 9.5 overs, won by 124 runs and moved into the final. Samson's innings ended when Tharindu Ratnayake bowled him, claiming his first wicket. Samson backed away again, looking to steer the ball into the off side, but the delivery angled in and skidded through, clipped his pads and went on to hit the stumps.
