Hello Yellow Army!
Well, after a good action day on day 2, day 3 of Round 3 of the Ranji Trophy 2026-27 has gone very quiet for our CSK players. Matches are slowly moving towards their results, and most of our boys just watched it happen. Still, we will continue like always, because that is what we do here!
But if you look closely, we still got a few moments to cherish and talk about. Our captain Shreyas Gopal had a great day with the ball, Tamil Nadu got another win with Gurjapneet Singh in the side, and it was a rough one for Aman Khan and Puducherry. A few others are still waiting for their turn with the bat, so let's see how they did, one by one.

Shreyas Gopal: rattling the top order, almost alone
What a day for our captain! Finally, after a couple of quiet outings with the ball, Gopal had a really good day, rattling the whole top order almost all alone to finish with 3 wickets for 25 runs in 13 overs. It is the perfect follow up to his 1/34 on day 1 and his 19 with the bat on day 2.
Karnataka declared on 490/9, and Tripura ended day 3 on 98/3 in 38 overs, still trailing by 198 runs. With a whole day left, if it continues the same way tomorrow, Karnataka will most likely get their first win of the Ranji season after back-to-back draws.
Gurjapneet Singh: back-to-back wins for Tamil Nadu
Let's celebrate! Tamil Nadu beat Railways by 5 wickets, and that is back-to-back wins for them after their innings win against Uttarakhand in Round 2. Railways were bowled out for 184 and 108, and Tamil Nadu got there with 165 and 130/5.
Gurjapneet did not bowl or come to bat today as the others had already done the job. But his 1/27 on day 1 and 1/15 on day 2 were part of it, and it is always nice to see CSK boys in the winning side.
Kartik Sharma: bowled for 1, but a big target set
Not the day Kartik wanted with the bat. After his lovely 73 on day 1, he was clean bowled by Mayank Mishra for just 1 in the second innings.
Still, Rajasthan got a good lead and declared on 290/5, setting Uttarakhand a target of 369. Uttarakhand ended day 3 on 38/0 in 9 overs, still needing 331 runs, so there is a full day of action tomorrow. Either it ends in a third draw in a row for Rajasthan, or they claim their first victory of the Ranji Trophy 2026-27 season.
Aman Khan: fiery start, same old end
Well, it's not T20, I would say to Aman! The way he started was absolutely fiery, hitting 19 runs off 16 balls with 2 sixes and 1 four, and then he was clean bowled by Zeeshan Ansari. Another start that did not turn into a score.
His wicket left Puducherry at 120/6, and the rest of the team was bundled out for 172 against Uttar Pradesh's 333, so they were forced to follow on. They ended day 3 on 39/0 in 11 overs, still trailing by 122 runs, and it looks like another loss is loading for Puducherry.
Sarfaraz Khan: Mumbai's dominance continues
As a fan, I would have loved to see Sarfaraz bat in the second innings and score big, but who cares when it is not even needed? Mumbai's one innings was enough to dominate the opponent, just like in the last two rounds, where they won by an innings both times, and this match is going the same way.
After Mumbai's 430, Haryana made 270 and were forced to follow on, and they ended day 3 on 73/2 in 21 overs, still trailing by 87 runs. So Sarfaraz did not bat again today, and we will probably miss seeing him in the second innings too. His last innings was the 40 on day 2.
Urvil Patel: another day of waiting
I won't mind that Urvil did not come to bat today, because it means Gujarat ended the day in a good position. They made 223 and 227/3 in 67 overs, leading Maharashtra (330) by 120 runs. But it will most likely turn into a draw, as Gujarat will want to bat longer and set Maharashtra a 200+ target to chase, but time is running out.
If it ends in a draw, it will be back-to-back draws for both Gujarat and Maharashtra after their Round 1 wins. Urvil will have to wait to make up for his 13 on day 1.
Kuldip Yadav: Mizoram fight back
Same story for Kuldip, and I won't mind that he did not come to bat today either, because it means Mizoram are doing something good. They are giving a good fight back, and ended day 3 on 350/5 in 127 overs, still trailing Meghalaya's 562 by 212 runs.
It will surely turn into a draw, as there is still a lot of game left to finish in a day. After his 4/62 on day 2, he may still have to put his pads on tomorrow and help save the match.
Prashant Veer: a CK Nayudu Trophy update
Prashant plays for Uttar Pradesh Under-23s in the Col C K Nayudu Trophy (Elite), and he finished with 3 wickets for 99 runs in 29 overs as Hyderabad were bowled out for 278. That comes after his 8 wicketless overs for 17 runs on day 1, so he stepped up in the long spell.
UP cut down the trail and are on 115/3, a lead of 5, so tomorrow they will need some crucial runs, and a good one from Veer with the bat would be great.
Who is out
- Ayush Mhatre is out with a Grade 4 hamstring tear, and Angkrish Raghuvanshi is playing as his replacement for Mumbai.
- Ruturaj Gaikwad is not playing for Maharashtra this round, most probably because of the ODI series in New Zealand, as he has been named in both ODI squads.
- Mukesh Choudhary and Anshul Kamboj are with India A in New Zealand.
- Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube are with the Indian T20I squad for the New Zealand tour.
I will keep adding every update on the Super Kings Player Tracker, so keep an eye on it, and I will be back with the day 4 article tomorrow.
Stay healthy stay yellow.
